2013 Kappa Holiday Homes Tour raises $109,000!!
We are so excited to announce our 2013 Kappa Homes Tour raised $109,000 to benefit area charities and our Kappa Foundation! The tour, in its 62nd year, broke all tour fund-raising records. Many thanks to Kappa volunteers, and our other friends, sponsors, Owl Friends, homeowners, florists, and partners who made this happen. A big shout-out goes to Valerie C., Christina E. and Kristi M. for their incredible dedication and huge effort in pulling this off!
Kappas presented checks for $40,875 each to Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired and the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault.
The Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation also will receive $27,250, with $24,000 of that dedicated to scholarships for college women, and $2,000 for the Rose McGill Fund, which assists Kappas in need. Another $1,250 goes to support the foundation’s educational programs.
The 2013 tour introduced an additional day to tour the homes with the goal of expanding its impact on the Kansas City community.
“We are pleased and honored to be able to increase our support for three worthy organizations chosen as this year’s beneficiaries,” Christina said. Way to go, ladies!!
