KC Kappas and area Chapters shine at the 2014 Kappa Convention!

A letter from Christy Wilson, president of KC Kappas:

Hi Kappa Sisters,

I returned recently from our National Convention and it was truly an honor and privilege for me to represent the Kansas City Alumnae Association. Once again, we stood alone as a Pearl level donor ($500,000 and above in total giving) in the Adelphe Society for alumnae associations for the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. A fantastic achievement!

That wasn’t all. Kansas City’s Alumne Association also walked away with these honors:

     *The winning alumnae association for the greatest giving to the Foundation in this biennium, with a total of $44,250.

      *The Heritage Award, which honors the association that shows the greatest interest in researching and maintaining its historical records to increase awareness of the significance of its history.

      *The Most Outstanding Association Award for Region 5 for overall excellence in fulfilling the purpose of the Fraternity. There were 7 regional winners (of which we were one) and the overall winner was Wichita, KS, recognizing significant effort in installing the Kappa chapter at Wichita State University.

      *Honorable Mention in the Membership Reference Award category, which recognizes the alumnae association that demonstrates extensive knowledge and effective use of the alumna reference process.

The local Kappa chapters that we support were also recognized as follows:

      University of Missouri - Winner of the Philanthropy Award; Honorable Mention for Gracious Living; Honorable Mention for Chapter Recruitment, and Honorable Mention for Chapter Public Relations.

     University of Kansas - Winner of the New Member Program Award; Honorable Mention for Gracious Living; Honorable Mention for Philanthropy; Honorable Mention for Reading is Fundamental, and Honorable Mention for Most Improved Academic Excellence.

     Westminster - Honorable Mention for Philanthropy; Honorable Mention for Chapter Recruitment;

Honorable Mention for Risk Management, and Honorable Mention for New Member Program.

     Kansas State University - Winner of the Excellence in Chapter Management Award and a host of Honorable Mentions: Advisory Board (relationship between the Chapter House Director and the Advisory Board); Chapter/Advisor Board Relations; Chapter Finance; Gracious Living; Philanthropy; Chapter Recruitment; Academic Excellence; Public Relations; Risk Management; Ritual, and Standards.

Thanks to each and every one of you who help to make the Kansas City Alumnae Association among the best for our Fraternity!
